God will not use an UNPREPARED Vessel.
Is your life useful to the Master and prepared to work with the Lord as such a time as this?
Lo, there is a great reawakening, and the wind of revival is blowing.
Woe to you who are complacent and at ease in Zion, and to you who feel secure on Mount Samaria! Amos 6:1
Many folks wish that God should use them, and indeed they really pray yo be used by the Lord in various ways, and diverse spiritual capacity. However, the very life they live betrays their wish, and is a direct opposite of their prayers. They live at a variance to their own will; they are hypocrites.
They are neither ready nor prepared for godly use. Self-indulgences entraps them, spiritual laxity ensnares them, and their appetite enslaves them. Laziness is a curse upon their destiny, and the excuses they give to justify slothfulness have become their perpetual grave.
This is why it is said: “Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.” Ephesians 5:14
God has always used men He found at duty posts. He has never and will never use an indolent man. Men who stay up their watch will always be His choice and treasured vessels. Men of godly Routines and Practices; who are not easily worn out by daily drudgery but are faithfully committed to conducts of righteousness; even when alone and lonely.
God only uses available men, and not wishful thinkers.
I ponder at the narratives of men and women God used as the plan and reality of salvation got executed. Though they were ordinary and unpopular, but they were REGULAR men; this very quality made them not only usable for God, but Dependable and Trust-able.
Quite notable is a woman called Anna; a widow and a prophet, who was said dedicated herself to God, waited and worshiped night and day, in fasting and praying for eighty-four years, just for the Saviour to be born. She laboured in consecration to birth the Saviour four score years and more…. Luke 2:36 – 38. She mortified her appetites and affections; having only married for 7 years and dedicated her life for intercession. How undaunting and audacious she was for God!
How unexaggerated will I describe a man, who defiled death through devotion and righteousness, and would not die until he saw the messiah. He laboured in fellowship with God until the Holy Spirit took a permanent residence upon him, even way before the day of Pentecost. His life was preserved and sealed until his private intercession for the consolation of Israel became a reality. For it was written that: “and the Holy Spirit was on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah” Luke 2:25-35. He was a man of prayer, and a man of power; yet so ordinary, but Regular. He lived not for himself, but for the whole nation; waited in petition before God for the consolation of Israel. He did not leave the gate of heaven until his petition got answer. No wonder he became immortal; though he was among men, he lived all his life at the shores of immortality, always before the Throne of Grace; contemplating the glory of God.
I will also mention of Joseph, whom the bible described as “..a faithful man…” and as a result, was in position for divine appointment and visitations. Mathew 1:19. Yet, Zachariah also, the father of John the Baptist, who likewise received angelic visitation at his Duty post, while serving as a priest before God…Luke 1:8. These men got into the line of divine appointment and privileges without preferential selection, but were chosen for their quality and commitment. If they had been negligent, deserting, and full of evasive reasons – such as you often give to salvo your unfaithfulness, they would not have been enlisted amongst men useful to the Lord.
Are you AVAILABLE and USEFUL?
Your life is so full of distractions that has made it WASTEFUL and USELESS to the Lord.
Remember, God is not emotional, and sentiments do not influence His choices or Judgment. It is only those, whose lives are consistent with His principle, that will be usable for Him. Listen to what the Holy Spirit says…
“In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for special purposes and some for common use. Those who cleanse themselves from the latter will be instruments for special purposes, made holy, useful to the Master, and prepared to do any good work.” 2 Timothy 2:20—21
You see, it is only those who are ready and prepared that can be instruments for special purposes. Are You?
How long will you entertain idle notions and excuses.. ?
How long will you continue to defer your full admission into His service for life’s trivialities?
How long will you be hindered by relationships and affections that are no longer expedient to your destiny?
How long will you sojourn farther away from the path of understanding, and further your voyage into the congregation of the dead?.
Mary and Elizabeth were ordinary vessels that also provisioned themselves for availability, and positioned themselves for usefulness. They were not by man’s estimate Spectacular, but they were Regular by God’s evaluate. They possess the qualities of Consecration, Commitment, and Consistency, which are indispensable core values of usable vessels.
Favour is found by those who labour, provisioning and positioning themselves for the Lord. Mary; you have found favor with God — this resonates still for those the Lord finds Willing, Ready, and Waiting.
You don’t have to be spectacular.
Just be Regular with the routines and practices that make a vessel of God; the routine of fellowship – Selflessness in Prayer, Diligence in the Word, and Faithfulness to Entrustments and Service.
You can find favour with God.
Be REGULAR!
