The end of all things is near.
Therefore, be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray.
Focus on what really count for Life and Eternity.
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 4:7, 5:8
Do not allow the devil to devour your object of focus, namely; Christ Jesus. Satan understands that he may not be able to tamper with man’s need and zeal to worship God, because it is in man to worship. So he has resorted to distracting people focus from God and to out-rightly substituting their object of worship and allegiance.
He seeks to dilute your passion for God with inordinate affections, and substitute your heavenly vision with earthly ambitions.
He distracts with vanity and neutralizes eternity from view.
He lures the soul with Gold, and nulls the spirit-man of God.
He deflates your thirst for the Cross of Christ and inflates your quest for the Crest of Men.
Nonetheless, the vigilant at heart will not fall prey to his subtle schemes.
People that are sober – serious, sensible, and solemn, who pays close and constant attention to the conditions of their own heart and the attitude of their own spirit cannot be swayed by satanic manipulations.
Effective prayer requires being sober – serious, sensible, and solemn. An unrestraint mind cannot pray effectively neither will it be prepared to mitigate and disarm the assaults of Satan against the soul.
Beloved, you need to watch out for strange fires within your heart, and every wild-ness of the spirit. Always narrow your gaze and streamline your attention. Remember, narrow is the way that leads to life and few people finds it. But wide is the way that leads to destruction, yet many walk therein.
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. Mathew 7:13-14
Sincerely, it is not going for you to be easy to be “narrow” amidst many broad contentions these days. It will require diligence and consistent efforts.
There may be many distractions, but you must always fight the good fight of faith and maintain your focus on eternal values and stay steady on the track of truth.
Watch your association and your affections. Pay careful attention to what you hear and how you listen. Be careful about what you watch on TV, Youtube, or at cinemas.
Rather, focus on what really count for Life and Eternity
Be diligent even about preachers your watch or listen to, look after the fruits of the Spirit and not be carried away by charisma, media effects, and gifting.
Remember, it is not all who calls Lord, Lord, and performs miracles that truly belong to Christ or represents Him or His interest.
Jesus Said: “Be wary of false preachers who smile a lot, dripping with practiced sincerity. Chances are they are out to rip you off some way or other. Don’t be impressed with charisma; look for character. Who preachers are is the main thing, not what they say.
A genuine leader will never exploit your emotions or your pocketbook. These diseased trees with their bad apples are going to be chopped down and burned.
“Knowing the correct password—saying ‘Lord, Master,’ for instance—isn’t going to get you anywhere with me. What is required is serious obedience—doing what my Father wills. I can see it now—at the Final Judgment thousands strutting up to me and saying, ‘Master, we preached the Message, we bashed the demons, our God-sponsored projects had everyone talking.’
And do you know what I am going to say? ‘You missed the boat. All you did was use me to make yourselves important. You don’t impress me one bit. You’re out of here.’ Mathew 7:15 -23. The Message Bible
Looking at the scripture critically, it says “at the Final Judgment thousands strutting up to me…” It is a serious matter and we must take it as such. Countless thousands are indeed out there, Ministers of SELF and Instruments of SATAN.
They are merely after profit and self-glory.
Of Such, Beware!
