Your challenges of life; the troubles, the temptations and the problems you daily experience are BRUTAL, ENDEMIC and FATAL.
You are a DEAD MAN and a living CARCASS; when you stay outside of the radiation of the Divine Light –Christ Jesus.
For Jesus is the Fountain of Life, and through his light we see light –
No man outside of Christ has power over darkness; everyone is under the control of DARKNESS.
1 John 5:19
We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. (NIV)
Darkness’ [that is, Satan] invasive nature is to becloud and cast a gloom of doom on human experience; but a little ray of light terrifies its appearing and he cannot withstand its brightness. Dark Times CANNOT survive the power of mercy in the shed blood at the Cross nor withstand the Authority of grace in the name Christ Jesus.
The glorious brightness of Christ Jesus dispelled and cast away the power of darkness that has prevailed over the whole world and suppressed humanity before Jesus’ appearing.
In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (NIV)
Surviving the shadow of death and overcoming desperate situations remains within the capacity of your will; being exercised by the Authority in the Name of Jesus Christ, and the Power of His Blood of His cross.
The good news is NOT that God will deliver you from the problems and afflictions of your life; because, there is NO MORE need for your deliverance nor is there any existing power to contend with over your life; however real or intimidating your experiences are, they cannot invalidate the truth of the gospel of Christ. For this reason, it is written:
And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. (NIV)
Rather, the Gospel is that Christ has delivered you already, and there is no further reason for you to remain in bondage of any sort or die in captivity of many kinds.
1 Corinthians 2:8
None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (NIV)
In perilous seasons of life, and no matter how awful things may seem and out of control, feeling of desperation and anxiety may come upon you, but you don’t have to allow it overtake you.
There is no reason for you to die nor perish in life under the yoke of circumstances; but by every means to live under the shadow of the Almighty. For to live is Christ –Philippians 1:21; and for Christ.
I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done.
The ultimate reason why you must ensure you SURVIVE and REVIVE your Spirit is predominantly because of Christ, what He has done and laid up for you; so that you can proclaim it to the ends of the earth.
When you begin to see things this way, and by so doing live with this motivation, nothing in this life or anything of it will make you FEAR. Rather, you will come to a knowing, just like Paul, that though you may be suffering severely or going through pangs of affliction, and the only gainful exit you can see is death –for to die is gain –Philippians 1:21; you will be convinced and consider it is more necessary to live; and to live indeed for Christ’s sake.
If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith, so that through my being with you again your boasting in Christ Jesus will abound on account of me.
Philippians 1:22-26 (NIV)
So then, your motivation for living is beyond your present situations or the reality of your current challenges, but an understanding that you must live for Christ; that you may PROCLAIM His wonders, goodness, and the abounding glory to the uttermost part of the earth.
Beloved, I say to you; LIVE!
Yet, I understand how hard and difficult it is to wish to live when the ships are down, and with acute need for help, and there is no light at both ends of the tunnel.
However desperate the situation, LIVE!
The following 4 steps will help you overcome in dark times.
1. Turn on the light of Hope.
Troubles and challenges are constant elements of life.
I lie, if I tell you that your experiences are peculiar. No, they are common to men.
“There isn’t any temptation that you have experienced which is unusual for humans. God, who faithfully keeps his promises, will not allow you to be tempted beyond your power to resist. But when you are tempted, he will also give you the ability to endure the temptation as your way of escape”
(1Co 10:13 GW)
Christ is the light of Hope. He is a friend and a brother that has the power to help you overcome life’s troubles.
I have told you this thing so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.
(John 16:33 NIV)
He has overcome the world. He has conquered our troubles and given anyone that believes in him the power to tread upon life’s challenges. He allows circumstances and situation to work out for our eventual good. He is a master of life’s tides and turbulences.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Let the light of hope shine on your situation. There is a way out, but if you allow the cloud of desperation hover over your mind, it will be difficult to see the Way or receive the Light [that comes in form of inspired ideas or wisdom] that will lead you out of the dark tunnel.
Christ brings hope, hope brings peace, and peace empowers you.
Accept and receive Christ today!
2. Do not be Anxious
How can I not be anxious when am already desperate? It seems contradictory and impossible.
This I say, Quiet your mind so that you can think clearly. Find and Focus on the inner peace you’ve got through Christ in prayers.
Never worry about anything. But in every situation let God know what you need in prayers and requests while giving thanks.
(Phil 4:6 GW)
As you remain still and focus in thought through prayers, your mind will shift from worry and anxiety to seeing God’s answer for your situation. God’s answer comes in various forms. It may be an instant provision or deliverance, grace for patience and endurance, submission to a higher purpose or His will, and lots more.
This mental shift in your thought process gives you a different light, so then you will begin to attract God’s plans and desires into your life’s experiences.
God has an ultimate purpose and plan for every situation in your life. Trust Him!
The only way to receive is by asking.
“Ask, and you will receive. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened for you. “
Asking for what you need is very necessary to receiving it. And when you ask, believe that you have it. Have faith that you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” (Mat 21:22)
Asking God when you are in need demonstrates humility and acknowledges God as your source. Then God will make exceeding grace abound to you; for he gives grace to the Humble. James 4:6
4. Let Go and Stay Steadfast
Let go of your frustration! Let go of desperation!! Let go of Fears!!!
Relax your mind so you can think clearly and be open to God. As you go about your day, pay attention to what’s in front of you at the moment. Do not be distracted.
What you are doing hence is not a mere put-up of positive attitude, you are rather changing your response to the situation, operating from the standpoint of empowerment, peace, and victory.
You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind [both in inclination, attitude, and character] is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Isaiah 26:3
The key to perfect and lasting peace is a steadfast mind. Steadfast mind in the midst of tension and pressure comes only from trusting God!
Trusting God means committing all to God’s Ability, Character, and Might. It means you can go to rest while you wait on him.
Put on your Strength. Trust God!
