Prayer is NOT a Spiritual Weapon!

You DO NOT fight Spiritual Battles against the Devil with prayer(s), rather you prepare yourself and get yourself READY for battles by praying.

Prayer was not intended to be a vehicle of violence, but a means of fellowship, growth, and strength. The very idea of ‘warfare prayer’ is misleading, and the notion that ‘aggressive confrontation’ with evil spirit in prayer is erroneous and untrue.

Prayer, however, is not a spiritual weapon, nor is it an accessory to spiritual warfare; it is an expression of the believer’s intimate relationship with the father. It is the channel through which we know the will of God, and able to bring its purpose to bear upon our lives and environment.

“Submit yourselves, then, to God [in the closet of prayer]. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” James 4:7

The reason we think we need to do battle with Satan and demons rather than exercising authority and dominion over them is is because we are not effective in our prayer closets. We are not broken before God in the place of prayer. We approach His presence with too many ideas and opinions, rather than submitting ourselves to His will, seeking His face, and pray accordingly.

You cannot not resist the Devil, if you are not submissive to God.

It is in appropriate to speak of ‘praying down’ or ‘praying against’ a demonic ruler when we really mean exercising authority in Christ to directly command the Spirit to leave.  Believers are not called on to engage in battle with demonic spirits in order to break strongholds; they are simply asked to proclaim the word of God in the power of the Spirit of God.

You need to “pray yourself down” and “pray against your own will” before you can cause the Devil to flee at your appearing, and at your word. Jesus prayed himself down on many occasion so that he could overcome Satan “Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” Luke 22:42.

Prayer has its impact on You and NOT on God or the Devil. It moves you into God; to know His will, understand His plan, and develop capacity to fulfil them.  It also makes you broken, it wearies you of the world, it dehydrates you of luxury, and it weakens the flesh.

You do not wage war against Satan by praying. Real and effective prayer aligns you with God and connects you to Divine Realities. So that you will gain access into the mind and will of God for your life, access wisdom and revelation through His words, and assert His authority in you domain or sphere of influence.

Satan thrives in an atmosphere of lies and delusion.

We do not conquer Satan by Praying; Christ already conquered him on the cross several years ago.

No fall down and die or Holy Ghost fire prayer does anything to Satan. If at all you see any manifestation, Satan allows it to occur to delude you and keep you in perceptual and recurrent bondage.

When we are truly submitted to God, the divine cooperation of the whole God-Head is at work in our prayers “The Holy Spirit writes our prayers, The Son presents our prayers, and the Father accepts our prayer. In this way, you can NEVER pray amiss. Prayer, in its fullest sense, is addressed to the Father, in the power of the Holy Spirit, and in the name of the Son – Jesus Christ.

Prayer is “an activity inspired by God himself through his Holy Spirit. It Is God siding with his people, and, by his own empowering presence, the Spirit of God himself, bringing forth prayer that is in keeping with his will and his ways.  A man or woman whose mind is under God’s government prays as his Father does

To be effective against the devil, you must sharpen your SWORD of the Spirit, maintain your SHIELD of Faith, and fasten tightly your BELT of Truth through prayer. That is, meditating on the word of God in His presence; allow the Holy spirit to illuminate your mind with understanding, In this way, you will be equipping and enriching yourself with the Word of God; ready for the good fight of Faith.

“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-6

We will be looking at how we wage effective war against the Devil, and more under the teaching “Spiritual Intelligence and Spiritual Warfare”

You are blessed!
